NextDoor was founded in 2006 with a mission to remove the pain points from overseas manufacturing.
With offices in New York and Guangzhou, we’re able to help clients seamlessly get their designs developed and produced at factories throughout Asia.
Our team is comprised of a diverse and talented group of industry veterans who embrace the challenge of working on our customers’ toughest projects.

Dave Ortiz – Co-Founder and President
Dave began his journey in overseas manufacturing over 20 years ago and has since forged strong relationships with factories and associates throughout Asia. With a background in engineering he has been able to apply his knowledge of systems and processes to help grow NextDoor into an invaluable manufacturing partner. Dave is a married father of two and is a native of Long Island, New York. He enjoys music and sports, especially watching his New York Knicks at MSG! Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University.
Topher O’Rourke – Co-Founder and Managing Director
Topher has successfully been able to leverage his creative background into a valuable asset for NextDoor’s customers. As a co-founder of NextDoor, he has utilized his artistic instincts to bridge the gap between unique product ideas and factories whose main focus is mass production. Topher is a native of Portland, Oregon and is a graduate of Bard College with a degree in Studio Arts.
Emily Hayward – Associate Vice President, Operations
Emily has emerged as a value stream and operations leader through her career in sourcing, product development and production over the past 10 years. Her expertise spans a diverse range of products, including jewelry, shoes, fashion accessories, and legwear. She has spent long periods of time working in Asia and has been able to successfully transition production in and out of several factories in different countries. Emily has built and managed teams to oversee production development and production overseas. She takes pride in team leadership and holds a high standard of culture with her teams abroad. Emily was born and raised in Massachusetts and is an avid ice hockey player! She holds a degree in International Trade and Marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Madeline Fitzgerald – Manager of Product Development and Merchandising
Madeline joined NextDoor in 2022 and has seamlessly worked in different facets of the company from sales and merchandising to product development and marketing. Her diverse experience and ability to excel in each of her roles has proven to be an integral part of NextDoor’s continued growth. Madeline was a four year member of Holy Cross’ Division I swim team and graduated with a degree in English. She is a native of Connecticut and is our office’s biggest Swiftie!
Guangzhou, China
Olivier Dauchez – General Manager
Olivier joined NextDoor after spending over 20 years in the leather handbags space. As a serial entrepreneur, Olivier has owned and operated a sourcing company, a luxury handbag brand and a factory in Mainland China. He is a resident of Hong Kong for over 20 years where he currently resides with his wife and three children.
Leo Du – Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Leo has worked both as a QC and Merchandising manager for many well-known leather handbag brands over the past 15 years. He has worked with many different factories throughout Southeast Asia and was stationed for two years in Vietnam where he helped transition production out of China. Leo holds bachelor degrees in both English and Japanese from the Changchun University of Technology.
Candy Xiong – Manager of Product
Development
Candy has been an employee of our Guangzhou
office since 2009 where she started in an administrative role. Since then she has been exposed to a variety
of different factories and production processes and has grown into one of
NextDoor’s most valuable assets. She now
manages our product development and sourcing team.
